The technology that optimizes calcium and phosphorus absorption in animal nutrition
Poligrow® is a patented technology, based on omega-3, 6 and 9 oils, that optimizes phosphorus and calcium absorption. As well as an emulsifier, it acts as a carrier for calcium and phosphorus ions. It forms complexes with these minerals so they can be absorbed by a different route than conventional mineral uptake: the lipid pathway.
Four stages, from the phosphorus locked in the grain to its absorption by the animal.
Digestion frees the phosphorus (P) and calcium (Ca) ions bound to the grain.
The acidic environment of the stomach (or proventriculus, in poultry) turns Ca and P into free ions.
Through ionic bonding or saponification, it forms a soap-like complex of calcium and phospholipids.
The complex enters micelles alongside bile salts and fat-soluble vitamins, which also raises the metabolizable energy of the feed.
The two most widely used sources of calcium and phosphorus come with costs beyond the financial.
High biosecurity risk: the main source of Salmonella and Clostridium. Not viable for breeders or export.
